1. Who we are
MyWebGuy is a small Australian digital and IT agency. We provide websites, Microsoft 365 and related technology services for small businesses and charity clients. This policy explains how we handle personal information for mywebguy.com.au and the services we deliver. It is written in plain English. It is not legal advice.
2. Small-business note (Privacy Act)
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), many Australian small businesses with annual turnover under $3 million are not “APP entities” and are not required to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles in full. We treat that exemption honestly: we still aim to handle personal information carefully, because clients, visitors, and charity partners expect sensible data hygiene.
Where we handle personal information for a client (for example on their website or donation platform), that client remains responsible for their own privacy policy, collection notices, and lawful use of data. We act as their technical service provider on their instructions.

4. Why we collect it
- Respond to enquiries and quote or schedule work
- Deliver, host, maintain, and support client projects
- Operate and improve this website (including traffic analytics)
- Communicate about services, invoices, and support
- Meet legal, tax, and accounting record-keeping needs
- Protect the security and integrity of our systems and client sites
We do not sell personal information.
5. Cookies and analytics
This site is static HTML/CSS on Cloudflare Pages. If GA4/GTM are configured, cookies or similar technologies may measure visits. You can limit cookies in your browser. Analytics providers process data under their own terms (see Google’s privacy policy).
6. Client data — service provider role
When we build or care for a client’s website, forms, email, or donation tooling, the client decides what to collect and how long to keep it. We access systems only as needed to deliver contracted services. Donor and supporter data on charity platforms remains the charity’s responsibility. MyWebGuy is not a Responsible Person of any charity client and is not the client’s Privacy Officer unless a written statement of work says so.
7. Overseas disclosure
Some tools store or process data outside Australia, including:
- Cloudflare — website hosting / CDN (Pages)
- Microsoft — email, Microsoft Forms, Microsoft 365
- Google — Analytics / Tag Manager (if enabled)
By using this site or engaging us, you acknowledge that personal information may be disclosed to these providers under their terms and applicable law.
8. Retention
Enquiry records are kept while useful for the relationship, then deleted or archived. Client project records are kept for the engagement and a reasonable period afterwards (financial records typically around five years for ATO-style expectations). Analytics follow GA4/GTM retention settings. Client credentials we control are removed or rotated on offboarding where we can.
9. Access and correction
Email [email protected] or call 0477 111 343 to ask what we hold about you or to correct inaccurate details. We will respond within a reasonable time. If the information sits only in a client’s system, we will point you to that client where appropriate.
10. Security
We use sensible access control, reputable hosts, and MFA where available on admin accounts. No system is perfectly secure. Report suspected incidents to [email protected] promptly.
11. Children
This site and our services are aimed at businesses and adult decision-makers. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information via this site.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The Effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
